If you’re tired of the same basic bedroom routine and you’re looking to switch things up, a game might be just what you and your partner need. Many times purchasing a sexy new game means reading directions and trying to figure out how to play. This can be really frustrating when you’re trying to add a little excitement and don’t want to deal with double checking the instructions because you’re confused. Foreplay in a Row takes a common children’s game and adds an adult twist! If you can look past the gender specific colors and use imagination when it comes to the choices, this is a game I highly recommend all couples check out!
-What It Includes-
Foreplay in a Row is a very basic game with simple pieces. Included in your game box is the game board, and 42 chips – 21 blue and 21 pink. The blue chips have male specific actions, and the pink have female actions. The package doesn’t include any directions inside, but they are printed on the outside of the box.
The package seems a little large compared to the items it contains, and it’s really not necessary to keep. The directions are basic, and all the contents fit easily in a gallon sized Ziploc. The front and back of the box show an illustration of the game board set up in front of a female figure. The name of the game is boldly displayed, obviously easy to see that it’s an adult version of a familiar game.
One side tells you the contents, the object of the game, and strategy and tactics. If you’ve played Connect Four, this isn’t new information. The tips include checking vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines before making your move, and to focus on the center of the board since it provides more opportunities to win. The opposite side tells you exactly how to play this version.
The chips and board are inside separate bags when it arrives. You have to tear them open in order to access them, so you’ll need to find another option to store the pieces. Small snack sized bags work great for separating the chips, making them easier to grab and play when it’s time.
-How To Play-
Before starting your game, you have to take the board and base and put them together. It simply requires lining up the pegs and holes and pressing down. They fit together and come apart without struggle, but it remains upright and strong throughout the game. The base itself has two dips, one on either side, that’s supposed to contain the game chips. The idea is great, but there are too many chips for them to fit comfortably. The top of the board has fine slits where you insert the chips during game play. When the game has completed, you have to tip the whole board over to dump out the chips.
The board is nicely balanced, which means you can play at the table, on the floor, or even on the bed without having to worry about it tipping over. The plastic is good quality, and unless you’re careless, it shouldn’t easily break (and certainly won’t from use alone).
Taken directly from the package:
“How to Play: Foreplay in a Row is played on a vertical board with 7 columns and 6 rows. The players have 21 chips each, distinguished by color, pink for her & blue for him. Each colored chip has either a sex or foreplay activity printed on it. Blue chips represent activities that she would preform on him and pink chips represent activities that he would preform on her.
Players take turns dropping chips with the activity of their choice in one of the empty spaces. A player wins by placing four of their own chips consecutively in a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line. The activities on the chips must then be acted out by the losing player (on the winning player).
If the board is completely filled without any player winning, that game will end in a draw & you must start over.”
And that’s it. Very straightforward and easy to follow directions – even if you’ve never played a four-chip connecting game before.
What really sets this apart from similar games (apart from the fact this isn’t for children) is chip selection. When it comes to creating your four in a row, you really have to pay attention to what you might enjoy. If you’d rather not have your partner shave you (for example), try to avoid using that chip. Naturally, it’s your game and you never have to do something you’re uncomfortable with, but it’s best to go for options that would excite you. Not only does this give you the opportunity to create a really sexy situation maybe even accidentally), but it might introduce your partner to something you’ve been hesitant to mention before.
None of the chips are extreme, but there are some that might not be a good fit for you and your partner. Beforehand, you can go through the chips and agree on the ones that are off limits. If you happen to win with a chip you’re uncomfortable with, you can just drop that activity, or treat it as a choice chip. There are chips inside the package that simply say, “His Choice” or “Her Choice”. These are awesome since all activities couldn’t possibly be covered with 42 chips. Having said that, it would have been nice to include at least two extra blank chips in each color. Not everyone will be able to (or want to) engage in certain actions that are written on the chips, it would have been nice to create your own and avoid the ones you don’t want to use.
Many of the options include nothing but you, your partner, and a little fun. They say things like, Dirty Talk, Oral Sex, Erotic Story, 69, etc. but some options require additional items that aren’t included with the game; like, Use Toy, Honey or Hot Wax, Lick with Edibles, etc. Be prepared to have a variety of items on hand (or gather them after the game), or get creative. It’s your playtime, ultimately, you make the rules.
If following rules isn’t really your thing, you can always switch roles. Swap chips and play the ones you want to do to your partner. If you win, you get to treat your partner to exactly what you want. This is another way you can show your partner just what you want, without having to say a word. Been dying to blindfold your partner, play that chip. With a little creativity, there are a few ways the game can be played.
Sometimes my husband and I get a little too serious about foreplay and forget to have fun. Okay, I admit, that’s mostly my problem, but it’s something I want to change. Many sex games seem cheesy to me, but when I saw Foreplay in a Row, I knew it was just the thing for us to try!
While shopping online, I showed him the game and asked if it was something he’d be interested in playing with me. He agreed, but immediately said, “Only get it if you’re prepared to have your ass handed to you!“. That’s his special way of challenging me, and making me aware of the fact he plans to win. I was happy to accept this challenge, knowing the end result is usually not in his favor.
When it arrived, we had a lot of fun looking over the chip options. Some didn’t interest us at all, but we’re open-minded and knew we could get creative. After the kids were in bed, we busted out the game and decided to play a few times before getting serious about it.
After winning three times, I let him win so he wouldn’t feel bad and would want to keep playing. He kept a positive attitude the whole time, but decided it was time to stop after we’d played twenty games (completely lost track of time) where he only won twice. This, folks, is what you get for bragging!
We’ve had a lot of fun with it since then. Taking our time and being really selective with our options. Though each game ends with one winner, we’re both truly the winners since it’s fun, breaks up our normal routine, and keeps us close. I mean really, how could anyone lose? I may have bragging rights, but it’s been a blast and we couldn’t be happier with this game!
