Wedge/Ramp Combo - full image

The Liberator Wedge/Ramp Combo takes two popular position pillows (say that five times fast) and puts them together in one great set.  Not only can you use the pieces separately, but using them together makes even more positions not only possible, but comfortable as well.  There’s no right or wrong way to use the pillows, and experimenting can be really fun.  It makes common positions easier on the body and allows those with physical limitations to expand their sexual catalog.  They offer back and hip support, take weight off hands and wrists, and provide easier access to you/your partner’s sweet spots.

The shapes are compressed when they arrive, making the shipping package much smaller than the actual pieces.  Though it’s easy to understand, Liberator has kindly provided step-by-step instructions (with photos) to assist you in prepping your gear for fun.  Once removed from the packaging, they sort of come to life as the foam slowly expands before your eyes.  There’s no effort involved, but it’s fun to watch them ‘grow’ (Please note, once removed from their packaging, it would be extremely difficult to compress them again).  Once they’ve reached full size, it’s time to slip them into their microfiber exteriors (it’s easy to tell which cover goes with which shape).  There are three colors available from Peepshow Toys; black, red, and blue.

Wedge/Ramp Combo - expanding

Wedge/Ramp Combo - layersThese position pieces feature a high-density polyurethane foam core, a polyester moisture-resistant liner, and a microfiber cover surrounding them.  The two layers work together, protecting the foam from lubricant and bodily fluids, but they aren’t waterproof.  They will prevent small amounts of fluid from penetrating the foam, and are machine washable, but squirters may want to lay a Liberator Throe (or other waterproof blanket) over the shapes for extra protection.  The shapes feature tags that explain how to clean the covers, as well as patches with the company name and logo on them.  They’re mostly discreet, though I don’t imagine someone assuming they’re for lounging around on or doing yoga.

The microfiber covers are pretty magical.  The Wedge and Ramp sort of cling to each other, preventing each piece from slipping out of place (even during more vigorous activities).  That’s wonderful, yes, but somehow they manage to be comfortable against bare skin as well.  No, it’s not silky smooth, but the material won’t cause friction burns and doesn’t feel scratchy.  Having that perfect balance between creating friction material-against-material while remaining comfortable?  I think that’s pretty amazing!  The downside; it picks up lint like crazy.  The Wedge/Ramp Combo doesn’t come with protective covers, so be prepared to have a lint roller handy or consider purchasing some.

-Our thoughts-

The Wedge/Ramp Combo interested us for a few reasons.  My husband and I both struggle with pain in different ares of our bodies; his pain is primarily in his back, and mine is in my hips and wrists.  There have been times certain positions were off limits simply because one of us was in a lot of pain.  We’ve worked through it for several years now, but I’ve always felt self conscious having to tell my husband I couldn’t preform in the way he wanted me to because of it.

Being married for nearly five years now, it’s easy to say we’ve tried a lot of new things together.  However, in the sexual position realm, we’d pretty much hit our limit and were constantly using the same positions.  In general, neither of us mind, but the idea of experimenting more had it’s appeal.  That’s where Liberator shapes really come into play.

I’d heard nothing but amazing things about the Wedge, but I was equally curious about the Ramp.  Prior to receiving this set, I made a mental list of all the different positions I was hoping we’d try together.  I was easily aroused by just the thought of it, and that excitement easily extended into the bedroom.

Wedge/Ramp Combo - on my full size bedThe package arrived and I grabbed my camera to take some photos while I opened it.  Despite having read the dimensions (24″ long, 30″ wide, and 12″ tall compared to the 24″ long, 14″ wide, 7″ tall Wedge), my jaw dropped when the Ramp kept expanding.  I literally took a step back and was in shock by the size.  Our full size bed, in our small room, looked absolutely tiny with the shape resting on it.  I immediately looked around the room in a panic, trying to imagine where in the world I would be able to store it.  The truth is, unless you have a large home and/or decent sized closets, the Ramp just isn’t a good idea.  Fortunately the Wedge is sold separately (for those of you who don’t have enough space), so you don’t have to worry about the dilemma we’re facing.

When it came to testing them out, my husband and I couldn’t be happier.  We both love how comfortable they are, and were even more impressed with the supportive foam.  Being a heavier couple, I half assumed they would flatten under our weight; making them useless, but we were surprised.  Even with our combined weight of around 480 lbs, the foam provided support and stability.

We tried all kinds of new positions, but it surprised me when our favorite ended up being one we use often.  I love being on top because I get to watch my husband’s face while having control of the speed and motions.  But, sometimes my knees and hips can’t tolerate it.  We placed the Ramp so his head was high at the top, and used the Wedge under his butt on the bottom.  Having him higher up put my legs in a more natural position, which allowed me to truly enjoy everything I was feeling.  Not only that, but it was more intimate.  His face was closer to mine and we were able to kiss and talk without me having to lean over and put my weight on my wrists.  I don’t care that we haven’t found a totally new position we both enjoy, I honestly couldn’t be more pleased with finding ways to better enjoy the ones we already love.

The Wedge/Ramp Combo was awesome in other ways as well, both separately and together.  We loved using the Ramp for Doggy Style positions, and the Wedge was amazing during oral sex.  Trying new things together was a blast!  We had moments where we just laughed at each other, and times we were both trembling in pleasure.  Your creativity and imagination are the only limits when it comes to the positions these pieces can assist with.

Truly, I’m thrilled we have the Wedge/Ramp Combo.  Yes, the Ramp is large in our small apartment, but we won’t live here forever.  If you have the space, don’t overlook this set.  It’s a little expensive, but the versatility is impressive!

I got mine from Peepshow Toys (where it’s sold for an excellent price!), and so can you!  Go check out the Wedge/Ramp Combo and all the other fantastic products available to purchase!

  1. Glad to hear you and hubby enjoyed trying out new positions with the wedge and ramp and even though you ended up in some of your regular ones it was comfy for you. I really want to try these. I have back problems but I don’t like to stay in one place for too long but I also like to be comfortable while doing it too.

  2. I was considering getting the plus size version, but after reading your review, we might not need it. We’re a heavier couple with a combined weight between 400 and 500 pounds. Do you think we’d be able to get the standard version and use it comfortably? I believe it’s only $10 more for the plus size version, so it might be worth it to go bigger than we really need anyway. I haven’t decided.

    • I was concerned about that myself. However, I was extremely pleased. I was really worried we’d feel like the pillows weren’t wide enough, more than anything, but we didn’t have any issues. I was nearly 300 lbs when I received these and I felt they were plenty large and dense enough to handle anything we decided to try. The plus size version might not be much more expensive on the Liberator website, but they are larger which would make them more challenging to store. Not only that, but Peepshow has the regular size set for a great price ($60 less than Liberator – plus you can save 10% more by using code POTTER1). I’m honestly not trying to persuade you from purchasing the plus size set from Liberator directly, but I truly didn’t feel it was necessary, even with the size of my husband and myself. I hope this helps! :)
