Silicone O-Ring Set - all six rings

-About the Silicone O-Ring Set-

The Silicone O-Ring Set from Tantus comes with six different sized rings to help satisfy your strap-on desires.  Many harnesses come with one to three o-rings which offer some flexibility in the dildo sizes you can use, but not everyone’s tastes fit within those three sizes.  This set not only opens up possibilities, but grows with you.  Someone brand new to pegging would likely select a very thin dildo, but what happens when they’re ready to invest is something a little thicker?  Will you have what you need to accommodate size changes?  Similarly, same sex couples often have very different desires.  Maybe one loves a lot of girth and the other feels satisfied with something average; or their preferences differ depending on vaginal or anal penetration.  Having everything you need, exactly when you need it, will make your sexual experiences more natural and pleasurable.

These o-rings can be used with any harnesses that features removable rings.  Not all harnesses are compatible, so make sure you check prior to purchasing.  Tantus has several harnesses and harness kits that would work, but there are a few available that don’t offer interchangeability.  It’s very important to use these only for their designed purpose.  These are not cock rings, and shouldn’t ever be used around the penis and/or testicles.  Never fear, Tantus has you covered there as well.

Being silicone, these rings are body safe, non-porous, latex free, and phthalate free; which is yet another reason they’re so awesome.  After use, you can wash them with regular soap and water, your favorite toy cleaner, or you can sterilize them for a little extra peace of mind.  Washing with a 10% bleach solution, boiling for a few minutes, or cleaning them in your dishwasher are enough to safely share (or switch orifices) without having to worry about spreading bacteria.

This particular silicone is buttery smooth, very stretchy, and picks up lint and small particles.  Typically, really smooth silicone is wonderful, but when it comes to holding a dildo in place, a shiny, more grabby silicone would probably work even better.  You don’t need to use any lubricant to place the ring at the base of your dildo, the way they stretch combined with the silky surface is enough to help get them in place.  When it comes time to lube up your dildo, be aware that some silicone lubes and silicone toys have negative reactions.  This doesn’t seem to be a common issue with Tantus’ silicone, but it’s best to spot test the rings prior to use, or stick with something water-based.

Silicone O-Ring Set - Directions

Putting a ring around your dildo is very simple, and the back of the package even provides a visual to help if you’re unfamiliar with harness use.  It doesn’t get much easier to understand than the visual and written directions.

Silicone O-Ring Set - tab with company nameThe design of this set is ridiculously basic, but how much can you really change a ring that holds a dildo in a harness?  The only notable difference on each ring, is a thin tab that extends from the side.  It simply has the company name printed in the silicone; it doesn’t have any effect on the way it’s used or how easily it is to put them on or take them off.  This area might collect lube or bodily fluids, so pay a little extra attention when cleaning.

Silicone O-Ring Set - size comparison, in handThe sizes included in this set are perfect for total beginners up to girth lovers, and everyone in between.  Based on the sizes included, it’s unlikely you’d ever need to purchase another o-ring again.  Chances are, if you have a dildo too thick for the largest ring, it probably wouldn’t be properly supported and secure enough for it to work well anyway.  This is definitely a one-size-fits-almost-everyone kind of set, that isn’t likely to disappoint.

The Silicone O-Ring Set arrives in a plastic package with all pieces in full view.  The display is really clean and appealing, but much larger than necessary for what it contains.  Not only that, but once you take the rings out, it’s a real pain to put them back in (a sandwich bag works well for storage).  Both sides contain information about what they are, how to use them, and the sizes included, there’s no additional information inside the package.

-What I liked-

It seems like Tantus really pays attention to what customers are seeking.  Having a variety pack of o-rings to go along with their amazing dildos and beautiful harnesses was a brilliant idea!  It’s a one time purchase that’s perfect to have on hand as your collection expands and your preferences change.  You don’t have to worry if your dildo will fit into the one ring that came with your harness, because you’ll have a set of six sizes to select from, nearly guaranteeing a perfect fit.

When I switched the rings in my harness, it was really simple because of how stretchy the silicone is.  Replacing and snapping the straps around it was so much easier than the stiffer ring it came with.

My husband and I haven’t yet tried pegging, though it’s something we’re working toward, so unfortunately I can’t tell you how well they work during penetration.  I was a little concerned the rings would allow dildos to sag in the harness, but as I walked around, and sort of stroked the dildo, it didn’t seem to be an issue at all.  The rings held the dildos firmly in place, even as I switched to heavier products.

-What I didn’t like-

Typically you’ll hear me complain about shiny silicone because it drags across the skin and picks up every little particle it possibly can.  This time, however, I have the opposite complaint.  I love feeling the rings in my hands because they’re so silky, but I know making them from a grabbier silicone would hold the toys in place even better (thanks to an awesome class from sex educator Ducky Dolittle, I know these are so smooth because of the molding process.  They’re injected rather than poured, which makes them matte and silky smooth).  This is likely a very minor complaint, but having not used them during penetration, I just wanted to share my thoughts.

-Overall-

If you have a harness or plan on getting one, consider this a staple.  This is a set you absolutely should get your hands on.  You’ll never have to wonder if you have the right o-ring to fit the dildo you want to use, because you’ll already know the answer.  These are great quality, affordable, easy to use, and with proper care are built to last.  If you’re not interested in strap-on play, obviously this set isn’t right for you.  While it might be tempting to purchase them to use as cock rings, I would strongly discourage that.  Tantus has several options that are designed for that purpose alone.

  1. Glad to hear these are a great set of O-rings they are so hard to find. I have a friend who got some and they were all too small.
