Sliquid Organics Natural Gel Lubricant

– Natural ingredients
– Glycerin, paraben, and petroleum free
– 100% vegan friendly
– Nice and thick
– No scent or taste
– Absorbs too quickly for some activities

Sliquid is well known for making natural lubes that are body safe and vegan friendly.  The Natural Gel isn’t the exception.  This water-based lubricant is hypoallergenic, non-staining, condom friendly, and so much more.  Because the consistency is thicker, it’s a great product to use during intercourse; anal sex included.  I wouldn’t say it’s the perfect universal lube because it absorbs too quickly during certain activities, but it works extremely well for others.

Sliquid Organics Natural Gel is a lubricant that’s completely body-safe and condom friendly.  It’s a great option if you’re looking for something a little thicker than the typical water-based option, but don’t want to compromise on ingredients.

This lube was “created by sensitive women, for sensible women“, so it’s not difficult to understand why it works best for vaginal use.  Whether you’re using it alone, or during intercourse, it lasts a surprisingly long time and isn’t likely you’d need to reapply.  The thick consistency makes anal play comfortable and feels more natural than thinner lubes.  It might not be right for extended anal play, but it works well for intercourse.

Even with the thickness, it doesn’t work well as a jack-off lube or for hand jobs.  After only a couple minutes, the slick feeling has Untitled-2faded and it’s necessary to reapply.  It absorbs well into the skin which makes it easy to clean up when you’re finished, but doesn’t stay slick long enough on external areas of the body.  For vaginal use and intercourse it’s fantastic, but male masturbation isn’t where this lube shines.

Though the ingredients are natural, make sure you check them prior to purchasing and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Purified Water, Place Cellulose (from Cotton), Aloe Barbadensis*, Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners), Extracts of Hibiscus*, Flax*, Green Tea* & Sunflower Seed*, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid (Citrus Fruits)
* Certified Organic

Untitled-6There are many different types of Sliquid available to purchase, but the Sliquid Organics Natural Gel appealed to me most because I enjoy thicker lubes.  Though it’s called gel, it’s not goopy or difficult to spread like you might imagine.  The consistency is the perfect balance of being thick enough to stay in place well, but thin enough to easily spread.

Untitled-7The lube is very wet and slick, and truly does feel natural during use.  At no point during use does the lube become tacky or sticky.  As the lube absorbs into the skin, there’s no greasy or oily feeling left; it’s like you never used anything.  Should there be excess lube present after your session, you can simply wipe it away.  You don’t need soap and water, or even a wipe to clean it off.  The comfort this lube provides is surprising and pleasing, especially since I find tacky lubes to be so frustrating.  Nothing kills a moment like having to wash your hands or clean your body when you’re making love with your partner.

One of the things that surprised me the most when I tested the lube was the lack of both smell and taste.  Often times unflavored lubes will still smell and taste a little like bubbles (the kind you blow outside), but there was nothing.  Even when I intentionally tasted the lube, I couldn’t pick up on anything.  This is fantastic if you’re planning on fooling around and following up with oral sex.  There’s nothing about the lube that would bother the giver in that situation.

Untitled-4Untitled-3Sliquid Organics Natural Gel arrives in a brown plastic bottle with a black press style cap on the top.  When the bottle first arrives, you need to unscrew the top and remove the seal before use.  The cap is easy to use, you press one side and the opposite end pops up.  The bottle doesn’t leak when you lay it down, but it’s always best to keep it upright if possible.

The bottle is a little firm, but requires you to squeeze in order to dispense the lube. The good news is that because it’s not thin, you’re less likely to accidentally squeeze out too much.

The label on the 4.2 fl oz bottle is very attractive looking, but the information makes it obvious what the bottle contains.  If you’re concerned about someone knowing you have lube (which is really nothing to be ashamed about) you can easily peel the label off, making it look like a smaller bottle of shampoo or something similar.

For regular activities, I’m not someone that requires extra lube in order to feel comfortable and for things to be slick, so I don’t often reach for lube during vaginal sex (and sometimes don’t for masturbation).  Not to mention I hate the tacky or greasy feeling a lot of lubes leave behind.  Because I don’t have an exact need for it, I usually only use lube for vaginal activities when I’m testing something out.  I might be changing that…

After lubing up my husband, I was amazed at the difference.  Yes, I was already naturally lubricated just fine, but the added slickness provided a new sensation for both of us.  I was shocked at how good it felt, how long it lasted, and how easy it was to clean up afterward.  My husband was so impressed by it, he requested a hand job the following day.

That didn’t go over quite as well.

The slick feeling lasted only a matter of minutes before my hand started creating friction and more needed to be applied.  After about five or six minutes and three applications, we gave up on that use.  We were both a little surprised that it didn’t last as long, but I suppose the addition of my natural moisture was what helped it last so much longer vaginally.

For the sake of the review, we also used the lubricant anally.  I really want to love anal sex, but I don’t, so it’s something I treat my husband to every now and then when I’m feeling comfortable and confident enough to play that way.  We typically only use silicone lube for anal play because it remains slick for so much longer, so I was a little nervous, especially after how it preformed for the hand job.  To my surprise, it worked surprisingly well.  I wasn’t uncomfortable and he was able to move easily in and out of my body.  It was a success (thank goodness!).

Overall, I really like this lube.  The fact that it’s never tacky, sticky, oily, or greasy is HUGE to me since I have issues with the way certain things feel.  Add in the fact it’s natural and doesn’t have a scent or taste, and I’m beyond impressed.  So it’s not the best jack-off/hand job lube, but it exceeded my expectations in all other ways.

  1. WOAH! This is my ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE lube ever! I had no idea it didn’t really work for handjobs…=( That sucks. But so glad to see that you enjoyed it nevertheless! <3

  2. I wonder how this compares with the Ride Bodyworx (also Sliquid) that I’ve got to work on… I’m thinking I might have to scavenge a bottle of this!

  3. I am glad you liked this. I enjoy Sliquid products myself.

  4. Oh Sliquid, how wonderful you are :) This is the second review I’ve seen that mentions a complete lack of taste and smell-a big deal for my partner. It appears to have the same consistiency as Sliquid Sassy, which is my first lube love, so yay!

  5. Great review. It’s difficult to find lube that’s truly flavorless. I’ll have to check it out.

  6. Sliquid has risen to the #1 spot of my top 3 favorite lubes. Spunk lube is at number two followed by Astroglide which I have used the longest out of any lube. The safe natural ingredients is very important and I’m glad Sliquid delivers.
