Oh the countless times you’ve crossed my mind!
I struggle to hold back and keep myself in line;
I know the risk, but strain to refrain
from what my heart thinks exists.
Do you see me? Have you looked my way?
I’d love to say you have but my jealous eyes
can’t hide the reality.
You aren’t mine, but you could be.
If you took the time to see inside of me.
Maybe someday I’ll catch your sight
but until then, my secret love,
I’ll push up my sleeves and put on my gloves.
There’s work to be done,
but never forget; I’m the one who takes care of
your dirty laundry.

  3. I do like this type of writing style and have done a little bit on my blog – it can be quite difficult to get the rhythm right!!

    You have done it beautifully.

  5. Wow, thank you all so much! I like to write without structure. I’ve done my fair share of getting all rhyming and syllables just right, but I prefer to just let it pour out. I’m glad to hear you’re all enjoying it! It’s been fun to get back into writing again!
