1packageNo, it’s not an actual gift for me, but it certainly was presented that way!  I’ve never received a review item that was so beautifully packaged!  Huge thank you to Vibrator Kingdom for making my day!  I bet you’re all just dying to know what it contains…aren’t you?

Last month Mr. Property and I were supposed to go to a tattoo convention with our artist.  At the last minute his plans changed and wasn’t able to make it, so we decided we’d pass on it as well.  We had a babysitter lined up (which doesn’t happen often) so we decided to take advantage and go on a little date.  We thought about going to see a movie, but nothing sounded good, so we went to lunch and then went to a couple antique shops.  Before we ended our date, he took me out for ice cream at this tiny little place in the middle of nowhere.

We got our ice cream and it started sprinkling, so we decided to eat in the car before going back to pick up the kids.  When we first got there I saw a container for cigarettes and found it funny, but it wasn’t until we were back in the car that we both got a good laugh from it.

buttsAh…it’s the little things!

I used to always get so excited about the mail man coming, but lately nothing exciting has come in.  That changed today!  I saw him pull up close to the apartment and I felt myself perk up.  Could it be?  Could something exciting finally be arriving in the mail?  Without him even needing to knock, the door was opened.  He’s come to expect that since the packages used to flow in quite regularly.  A short greeting and the box was extended.  I excitedly brought it into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and cut through the tape on the box.  A big smile crossed my face as I pulled the lid open and saw my treasure.  My FIRST package from Lovehoney had arrived!  Call me mean, but I’m not going to tell you what it is.  Expect a review within the next couple weeks!

I’ve always loved the look of vintage/antique things.  I’m particularly fond of skeleton keys, old locks, bottles, and jars (and almost anything made out of glass).  Having children, I can’t always grab these things to take home with me, but that will change once they are older.  It wasn’t until recently that my husband and I started checking out some of the local antique shops, and I discovered that my love for all things old was much deeper than I previously thought. I wanted everything I saw, even if I had no use for it, and as I lusted after these amazing treasures all I could do was imagine how amazingly unique and interesting my home would be if I lived on my own (poor Mr. PropertyOfPotter!).  Snapping back into reality, I enjoyed looking through all the amazing things that had held up so well over time.  We walked away with a few Ball canning jars for my sea glass collection, but I held back on other things due to lack of funds. *cries*

nuts-21Not long ago my husband and I went on a mini vacation on the motorcycle and sadly dealt with nothing but rain the whole time.  We decided instead of trying to see the sights (which was the whole reason for the location), that we would do a little antiquing.  The first shop we stopped at proved to be a wise choice, since we picked up a couple wonderful things!

I saw this adorable looking round tin and picked it up to get a closer look.  When I read the front I knew it was something we had to grab!  Our tattoo artist’s name is Adam and the wording on the front was too much to pass up!  He’s the type of person that is constantly joking about his ‘junk’ and I could just imagine the look on his face when he saw this!  He’s also a collector of all things unique and interesting and after showing my husband, we agreed that it had to come home with us.

nuts-33While I was standing there, I opened the tin to see what it looked like on the inside.  I hadn’t noticed how heavy it felt, so I was quite shocked when a long, faded, cloth covered spring came popping out of it.  I jumped, seeing as it was very unexpected, and my husband and I were both laughing until we were crying!  The owner of the shop came over to see what the fuss was about (I think she assumed we were up to no good) and realized that our laughter was deserved.  We closed the lid, finished up our shopping (where we also purchased our second lock), and excitedly imagined the look on our artist’s face when he saw our gift to him.

nuts13Today is a tattoo day, so we were able to give him the gift.  You could instantly tell that he loved the look and text on the tin, and after asking if there was actually any nuts in it, he opened it and jumped back while the spring flew out.  We were all laughing and it proved to be a great gift.  Old? Check.  Great design? Check.  Slightly perverted? Check.  I’m almost sad my man’s name isn’t Adam…the tin was a little difficult to part with!

Recently, my daughter turned seven and we had a birthday party for her.  A few of her school friends were able to make it, and we had a great little party.  When it was time for gifts, our neighbor, a fellow classmate of my daughter, gave a picture she drew in place of a card.  It was viewed and tossed to the side since everyone was dying for her to open gifts.  Once the chaos died down, I went back through and look at the cards she received.  This little seven year old girl drew this image:

Untitled-2

Untitled-3When I asked my daughter what it was, she said that the girl told her is was a character from Jake and the Never Land Pirates which is a popular TV show that can be found on the Disney Channel.  Being that we don’t have cable, I wasn’t exactly sure who this character was, and doubted her name was I Sex.  When I looked it up, it turns out the character is actually Izzy and looks like the character to the left.  I really have no idea if the girl was trying to spell Izzy or something else, but the drawing paired with the words really threw me.

I immediately showed my husband who raised his eyebrows for a moment and enjoyed a good laugh with me.  I love the fact that we can share these little things together.  It always baffles me what kids come up with, and after being a parent for the past seven years, little surprises me.  This will be a drawing I hold on to for my daughter since I’m sure in another ten years, I’ll pull it out and we’ll both enjoy a good laugh about it!

-Be careful, if you jerk it around too much it’s bound to explode!-

Recently when my husband and I were out grocery shopping, there was an end cap of an aisle that contained the most wonderful carbonated beverage I had ever seen.  I lost it.  Tears were pooling in the corners of my eyes from laughing so hard.  Admittedly, I have a tendency to laugh a little too hard at times, but my husband also saw the humor which made me feel better.  For this trip, we passed on purchasing a bottle, but when my husband called on his way home from work a couple days later, I told him I needed him to grab me some.

Generic for, you guessed it, Dr. Pepper (my soda of choice), Dr. Perky is a cherry flavored soda put out by My Essentials which we found at our local Hannaford.  Being a pervert someone who appreciates the funny things in life, I just had to snag it and give it a try.  Honestly, it’s okay.  Similar to Dr. Thunder which is put out by Sam’s Choice (found at Walmart), it has a more prominent cherry taste than that of Dr. Pepper itself.  I don’t drink soda often, but the novelty of this was enough for me to need it.

Clearly they were reaching when they named this one; trying to keep the ‘P’ on there to make sure you knew the flavoring was similar to Dr. Pepper.  Either way, it gave me quite the chuckle.  I was glad to enjoy Dr. Perky this week…and hopefully you enjoyed some ‘Perky’  of your own in some form this week!

Have you ever been out grocery shopping and found something that had an inappropriate name?  Have you ever turned an innocent sounding product into something dirty?  What was it?

Yesterday we spent the day with family and friends and were able to watch some awesome fireworks.  It had been years since I saw a show and my kids all really enjoyed it.  I was able to snap a few photos of the beauty, so in case you’re unable to catch them this year or if you’re outside of the country, please enjoy what I was able to capture!

The 4th of July is truly set in place to celebrate our (the United States) independence through the adoption of the Declaration of Independence which was adopted back in 1776.  Here, you’ll find more information about Independence day, what it represents, and how it all came to be.  As for us?  We love to celebrate it by getting together with the people we love and simply enjoying our time together.

Tonight, I’m celebrating in an unconventional way.IMG_2894(Pictured: Dreamgirl Stretch Lace Open Crotch Boyshorts, Wet Body Glide Flavored Lubricant, and We-Vibe Salsa)

Are you doing anything to celebrate tonight?  Are there any ‘fireworks’ in your evening plans?

Ah, the first official day of summer, how I’ve been looking forward to you all year! Last night my husband informed me that we would be going to the ocean in the morning.  He made sure to set the alarm nice and early so that we could hit the beach before it got too crowded, [...]

It’s been a long week already in the POP household, and nothing fixes stress like a little bit of humor! Here’s a funny little rhyme I heard not too long ago: “Jack and Jill went up the hill so he could lick her candy, but Jack got a shock and a mouth full of cock, [...]
