Basic 1 Dildo from BS is Nice is a really simple looking toy with a fairly standard shape.  With all the crazy textured dildos available, you might think this one looks boring, but sometimes the most basic designs are the ones that work best.

With a broad head and great curve, the shape of this toy was made with targeted pleasure in mind.  Having a shaft without texture makes thrusting nice and smooth and keeps the focus on specific areas, with the overall design being very versatile.  The base of the dildo is not only safe for anal use, but also fits solidly in a harness; making it great for any gender, in any type of relationship, or for solo pleasure.

-Material/Texture-

The Basic 1 Dildo is made from high quality silicone which is body safe, non-porous, latex free, and phthalate free.  Silicone is one of the best materials for a sex toy because it’s so easy to care for and is available in a wide range of firmness levels.

These dildos are each handmade in Spain using ‘traditional technologies’.  There are some small marks on the surface of the toy which makes it slightly imperfect, but is expected for a smaller company.  It doesn’t effect use, but does give it a little bit of character.

This particular silicone is unlike anything I’ve ever felt before.  The surface doesn’t have any texture to it, but has this incredibly interesting smoothness to it.  It will drag across your skin if you slide it lightly, but is somehow smooth at the same time.  It will pick up small particles, not because the surface is tacky, but because it gets staticky.   Without changing form, it reminds me of the way clay feels in your hands as your shaping it.  It has a light shine, but feels more matte to the touch.

The firmness of this dildo is one of its best features, in my opinion.  It easily compresses in your hands, but provides great G-spot pressure.  It also flexes nicely which helps prevent it from causing discomfort while being firm in all the right ways.  Pretty much it won’t flop around, but is still comfortable and stimulating to use.

-Design/Size-

This particular toy is called ‘Basic 1 Dildo‘ for a reason; it’s very basic.  It doesn’t have a bizarre new shape, it isn’t covered in a crazy texture, and it doesn’t move/bend/flex in some unheard of way.  This sort of shape is fairly common in dildos, having a great curve, broad head, and increasing girth of the shaft.  While many advanced users might feel this looks like a beginner’s toy, they couldn’t be more wrong!  Yes, a beginner certainly could appreciate the shape (though the size might be an issue to someone who’s not used to penetration), it’s one that just about anyone can appreciate.

The tip starts off with this wonderful rounded point that makes insertion so easy, and the hooked head that follows does an amazing job of rubbing the G-spot.  Thanks to the firmness level, it doesn’t get caught up on the pubic bone either, so stimulation is always comfortable and enjoyable.  The increasing girth is great because it gives you a full sensation, and the flat base on the bottom allows it to stand up on its own and rest comfortably in a harness.

The actual name of this dildo is ‘Basic 1 Dildo Large‘.  There’s a smaller version available that’s the same great shape, but would be more suited for beginners and those that prefer smaller toys.  Though this one is called large, I would say it’s only a little on the girthy side of average.  It’s large enough that it would likely be too much for a beginner, but might not be large enough to satisfy a size queen.  The full length is 6 1/2″ (not measuring along the curve), with 5 3/4″ being insertable.  The length is wonderful because it should stimulate most G-spots without being so long it’s constantly bumping into the cervix in an uncomfortable way.  The head and top of the shaft start out at 4 1/2″ in circumference, and gradually get wider until it’s 5 3/4″ at the base.

-Care-

With proper care, your Basic 1 Dildo should last a very long time!  Before each use you should wipe it down or wash it to remove any particles, and always make sure to clean it after use with antibacterial soap and warm water or your favorite sex toy cleaner.  If you’re sharing with a partner or switching orifices, it’s important to make sure you sterilize it in between use.  You can do this by cleaning with a 10% bleach solution, boiling for three minutes, or placing on the top rack of your dishwasher.

Because it’s made from silicone, you have to be careful with the lube type you use along with it.  It’s always recommended you use a water-based lube with your silicone toys to prevent the material from reacting poorly.  If you must use another type, make sure you spot test on an area you wouldn’t insert prior to slathering it over the whole toy to test it out.

There’s no need to search for a storage pouch since the packaging will work just fine.  It has a resealable top just like a Ziploc bag but is much more durable and can stand on its own.  The package is mostly clear, having only the logo and a few words on the front, and the back having a little more information on it in both Spanish and English.  Inside the package you receive another small paper that provides you with instructions and warnings, and you also receive a lubricant sample.  Included inside my shipping box was also a paper about the company itself.

-Experience-

Ever since I laid eyes on a BS is Nice dildo, I’ve lusted over them!  They have some really great color choices that are fun and funky, but even their solid colored dildos are beautifully vibrant.

My first impression when I opened the shipping box was how awesome the package was.  The fact it’s so basic (going with a theme here?) while still be reusable was something I could really appreciate, not to mention having a clear pouch makes it so much easier to view which toy you’re grabbing.

When I took it out I was so intrigued by how it felt in my hands.  The feeling is so hard to describe; some drag, but somehow silky?  It’s truly amazing even if I’m not sure which words work with it.  The firmness got me excited right away and I could wait to truly test it out.

Being a toy reviewer, I set out a few new toys to test and got started.  The first one I used was covered in texture, which is something I normally enjoy, but it was really uncomfortable for some reason.  I stopped after only a minute and reached for the Basic 1 Dildo.  I applied a small amount of lube (with the smooth surface only a little is needed) and slipped it inside.  Not only did it immediately feel amazing, it almost soothed the discomfort the other dildo caused me.

I spent a long time focusing on the sensation this dildo provided, and was so impressed at how well this basic dildo preformed.  Sometimes taking a break from the crazy shapes and textures can help you truly appreciate what a simply great design has to offer.  I highly recommend checking out this, and all the other products BS is Nice has to offer.

Please Lubricant Sampler Pack from Pleasure Works

Trying a new lubricant can be really hit or miss, especially when you already have a go-to.  It’s even worse when the new lube you purchased ends up falling short.  Not to mention if you’re purchasing a good lube, it can be pretty expensive, and end up being money wasted if it doesn’t work out for you.  The best way to eliminate this potential problem?  Sample packs!

From Each

Each lubricant sample is water-based which makes them safe to use with any of your toys without having to worry about a reaction of any sort.  They’re also each glycerin and paraben free which is a huge plus for those that try to avoid them.  None of the lubes are great option for anal play because they simply aren’t thick enough or last long enough, but they work fine for other uses.   The pouches all have easy tear tabs on the top, making them convenient and easy to open and apply.  Just be aware that the lube comes out pretty fast once it’s open.

Another thing I noticed about all three of them as the scent.  Each lubricant reminded me of the way scented baby wipes smell.  It’s not strong and is only noticeable when you’re really close to it, but isn’t unpleasant at all.  It doesn’t linger on the skin once it’s been wiped away either.

Please Liquid Lubricant

Ingredients
Water/Aqua, Cellulose Gum, Guar Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid

The Liquid, as you may have already assumed, is the thinnest of the three.  It’s thicker than water, but doesn’t take long for it to run.  It has a nice wet and slick feeling to it, but needs to be reapplied more often as a result.  This one is best for vaginal use since it needs that added moisture to prevent it from getting dry too quickly.

As it dries, there’s a brief period where it gets slightly tacky feeling, but it doesn’t last long.  It absorbs into the skin well, eliminating the need to wash up, and making your skin feel nice and smooth in the process.

This lube is clear and totally tasteless, making it a fine option to use if you’re planning on starting with one activity and advancing to oral play.

Please Cream Lubricant

Ingredients
Water/Aqua, Sorbitol, Isopropyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Polysorbate-20, Cellulose Gum, Sclerotium Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Disodium 

As you can tell from the ingredients list, this does contain a small amount of silicone.  That being said, the website states that it’s such a small amount it won’t have any negative effect on your silicone toys, but you can always spot test first if it makes you feel better.

The Cream is the most unique out of the three.  It’s about the same thickness as the gel, but has more of a silky texture than a slick one.  It feels too wet to resemble lotion, but does have a slight greasy feel to it.  It’s enough that you may feel the need to wipe it away after use, since it doesn’t absorb into the skin as well as the others.  Not absorbing as quickly isn’t necessarily a bad thing.  It lasts longer than the others, making it a better choice for external uses.  It doesn’t last long enough to be the perfect jack off lube, but it would work in a pinch.

This lube is white in color and has a light taste to it.  It doesn’t taste bad, but isn’t something you’ll want to keep intentionally tasting either.

Please Gel Lubricant

Ingredients
Water/Aqua, Cellulose Gum, Guar Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid

Though it’s called Gel, it’s much thinner than you might assume.  It has a nice wet and slick feeling to it, but runs much easier than other gel type lubes I’ve tried in the past.  It’s thick enough that you have time to apply it where needed, but will easily drip from your hand/body/toy if you don’t rub it in right away.

Apart from being a little thicker, it’s essentially the same thing as the liquid version, needing to reapply often, absorbing into the skin well, and best used for toy use or vaginal intercourse.

This lube is totally clear and has no taste, making it a suitable option if you plan on advancing to oral play.

-Intro/Use-

Enchanted Thrusting Ellie from the Enchanted line by Cal Exotics is a dual stimulating vibrator, often referred to as a ‘rabbit’ vibe.  This type of toy is primarily designed for women to use for simultaneous stimulation of both internal and external pleasure zones, without needing to use two separate toys.

For solo use, this vibrator style is wonderful since you don’t need to exhaust both your arms, and can even use it hands free by inserting the shaft, and holding your legs together.  The straightforward controls keep it easy to use and understand which makes it simple for a partner to use on you as well.  Though the material has some give to it, be careful with thrusting with it since the clitoral arm could hit hard and cause some discomfort.

The clitoral arm acts as a base and is safe to be used anally, but isn’t a great option for a few reasons.  The material itself is somewhat porous, so you would need to use a condom over the insertable portion of the toy since it can’t be fully sterilized.  The other reason is the way the clitoral arm is designed.  It might cause discomfort to the perineum since it doesn’t have a lot of flex to it.  There are many other, safe options for anal use if that’s what you’re interested in.

Thanks to a rubber o-ring around the base of the battery compartment, you can take the vibe with you into the tub or shower, and it makes cleaning the toy much easier.  Just make sure the cap is properly closed and no water will leak inside the toy.

-Material/Texture-

The Enchanted Thrusting Ellie is made from  TPE, ABS plastic, and Stainless Steel beads.  TPE is the clear material that covers the areas of the vibe that comes in contact with your body most.  It’s not a non-porous material, but it’s much safer than jelly which many rabbit vibes are made from, and is latex free and phthalate free.  It’s important to always use a condom if you plan on sharing with someone else, since there’s no way to sterilize the material.

The surface of the toy feels very rubbery, which is common considering the material type.  It doesn’t glide smoothly across the skin, but has a lot drag and also picks up a lot of small dust and lint particles.  A little lubricant applied to both the clitoral arm and shaft with help it slide in nice and smoothly.

The TPE has some give to it which is most obvious in the ‘head’ of the toy, and provides a little cushion around the hard internal parts.   The clitoral arm is very soft and pliable, but still provides nice pressure where you need it most.  It does flex upward, helping it fit better, and doesn’t clamp down when everything is lined up.

-Design/Size-

The Enchanted Thrusting Ellie has very familiar features to it if you’ve ever seen a rabbit vibrator before; having a partially clear shaft with beads underneath, a clitoral arm, and a plastic base where the battery compartment and buttons are located.  The shaft itself is somewhat phallic in shape, but isn’t overly realistic in general.  

The external stimulator is unlike any I’ve ever seen before.  It is animal shaped, but rather than being a rabbit like you’d typically see, this one features a cute little elephant.  It’s angled upward, standing on its back legs only, almost looking like it’s lunging forward.  The attention to detail is amazing, the trunk wrinkles and face, ears, and even the front set of legs underneath.  It’s a nice change from the common animals you see, and is pretty adorable, which might bother some that don’t care for ‘animal’ shaped toys.

The size immediately looks intimidating, but a good portion is because the battery compartment makes up so much of the length.  The full size is 10 1/4″ long, but only 5″ is insertable.  The elephant, measuring from where it’s connected to the shaft to the tip of the trunk, is 2 1/4″ long and should be suitable for most users.  The girth is a bit much for a beginner or someone that prefers smaller toys.  It’s 5 1/8″ in circumference at the widest point, but is only 4 1/2″ at the tip.

-Functions/Controls-

The Enchanted Thrusting Ellie requires four AA batteries in order to function.  The base of the toy unscrews and a white tray slides out.  It’s properly marked to show exactly how the batteries should be inserted and is very easy to understand.  Make sure the metal pieces on the bottom of the tray match up with the metal pieces inside the battery compartment and you’re good to go!  Make sure you screw the cap on well and you’re ready to turn the toy on.

Inside the toy are two motors, one that controls the rotation, and one that controls the vibration.  They are totally separate which means the vibrations can only be felt in the clitoral arm and the rotation/thrusting can only be felt in the shaft.

There are a total of four buttons on the toy, and four light indicators.  One controls the vibrations of the clitoral arm (the 7 and light above it), and three that work with the rotation of the shaft.  The internal and external stimulators are controlled separately, meaning you can have only external stimulation, only internal, or both at the same time.

The rotation:

To turn on the rotation, you have to press the up arrow which brings you to your first rotation speed.  There are a total of three speeds and continuing to press the up arrow will make it go faster.  The (R/S) button changes the rotational direction; it will pause for a brief moment, and then spin the opposite way.  If the rotation is too fast, you press the down arrow, and turn it off my pressing down until the lights turn off and the rotation stops.

Along with the rotation is a slight thrusting action.  Now, before you think this is similar in anyway to the Fun Factory Stronic line, think again.  The white plastic piece inside the shaft lightly moves up and down against the tip as the three rows of beads also move up and down in sync.  The action can hardly be felt in your hands, it lacks that much.

The rotation isn’t very fast, even on the highest setting, and there really isn’t a lot of difference between the three speeds.  The sound level is a little annoying and might be a distraction during use.  With the door closed, the rotation might be heard if there’s no other sound in the house, but adding some white noise would cover it up fairly well.

The vibration:

When you press the 7 button once, you turn on the first vibration setting of the clitoral arm.  Naturally, there are a total of seven patterns (which is obvious based on the button being labeled ’7′), and the light indicator changes color and switches from steady to blinking depending on the setting.  When you’re ready to turn it off, hold the button down for a few seconds, continuing to press it will only result in cycling through the patterns again.

The vibration patterns are:

1. Steady Low
2. Steady Medium
3. Steady High
4. Escalating Pulse
5. Pulse
6. Quick Pulse
7. Three Quick Pulse to Steady (repeat)

There’s some variety, but they mostly stuck with either steady or pulsing patterns which might seem lacking to some.  The vibrations are decent, but are on the buzzy side, which is always disappointing for those of us that crave deep, rumbly vibes.  It should work for those that are a little more sensitive, because there’s some power there, but power queens will feel let down by it.

Even on the highest setting, the noise level is quite modest.  While someone in the same room with you would be able to hear it (without any other noise), no one outside of your closed door would know what you’re doing.  It’s totally safe to use the vibrations with someone else in your home, but you might want to wait on the rotation for when you’re totally alone.

-Care-

Before and after each use, the Enchanted Thrusting Ellie should be cleaned.  You can easily wash it in the sink with antibacterial soap and warm water, or your favorite sex toy cleaner.  There’s no way to sterilize this particular material, so it’s important to use a condom if you must share with someone else, but is smarter to keep this one to yourself.

Both water-based and silicone-based lubes are safe to use with this toy, and a little goes a long way.  If you plan on using other toys during the same session, pay attention to material differences since silicone toys don’t always get along with silicone-based lubes.

The only storage option with this toy is the cheap plastic packaging.  In order to avoid potential surface damage, it’s important to keep it away from other toys and inside a bag or pouch.  A gallon sized Ziploc works well if you have nothing else.

-Packaging-

Your ‘rabbit’ will arrive in a thin plastic package that proudly displays the product through a clear window on the front and one side.  It has a bunch of scattered information on the front, sides, and bottom, but the back features the key points in five different languages.  It’s not discreet, and though there’s no nudity on it, isn’t very tasteful either.

The top easily opens and a thin plastic tray slides out that contains the toy.  It’s not at all important to keep the package and it wasn’t made to last anyway.  If it does happen to break on you (like mine did) be very careful because the plastic is quite sharp and could cut you or your toy.  As long as you have another storage option for the toy, you can dispose of it as you normally would plastic items.

-Experience-

The Enchanted Thrusting Ellie had me curious because I had never used a rabbit that could rotate and thrust, so I was anxious to give this one a try.  I thought the blue coloring was a nice change, as was the elephant shaped stimulator, though I would prefer my vibes not having an animal shape in general, and was anxious to put it to use.

It felt good and solid in my hands, and knowing it ran on four AA batteries gave me the impression that it would be nice and powerful.  When I popped the batteries in and tested it out, I was immediately surprised that the vibrations were decent (though buzzy), and couldn’t wait to try out the rotation and thrusting action.  In my hands it seemed okay, but I was ready to really see what it was all about.

I often have issues with clitoral arms on rabbits not reaching my clit properly because it’s a little far away, but the trunk reached without an issue.  I started with the vibrations and while they felt good, it was more of a tease than anything.  After cycling through the vibrations, I decided to try out the internal functions.

Or at least, I thought I would.

I turned on the rotation and nothing happened so I pulled it out and pressed the button before inserting it.  The rotation was going, but only when it was outside of my body.  I upped the power and the second setting wouldn’t work either.  On the final setting, the rotation would work, but even the tiniest squeeze of my muscles would make them stop.  I contract those muscles while I’m masturbating a lot because it feels good, so this wasn’t going to work for me at all.

If the rotation had more power behind it, this wouldn’t have necessarily been an issue, but as it stands, I couldn’t even test out how it was internally because it wouldn’t work inside my body.  I was extremely disappointed in this toy as a result.  What good is a rabbit vibe if the internal portion is useless to me?
