-Use-

Black Mink Wrist Cuffs from Muffeze are super soft cuffs which the company calls FreeDom Gear; they give you the FreeDom to play and enjoy sex with your partner.  Great for beginners and those that are looking for light restraints, these wrist cuffs are easy to use and non-threatening.  Though they aren’t designed with heavy players in mind, they work great to add a little kink to a vanilla lifestyle and are a great accessory for a sexy photo shoot.

These cuffs are gender neutral and can be worn by anyone.  Apart from being fuzzy and soft, nothing about them seems too feminine for a man to wear, and the size also makes them suitable.  These aren’t dainty little cuffs, they’re thick, plushy, and suitable for a wide range of users.

Also available from Muffeze are Metal Clamps that are designed to keep you or your partner in place.  These clamps can be attached to your cuffs while also being attached to the bed, couch, chair, or even the opposite cuff.  They bite down hard and stay in place really well, even if you’re struggling.  These are available to purchase separately, but are a great addition to the cuffs.

-Material/Texture-

The cuffs from Muffeze are made from faux fur and nylon, making them totally vegan friendly.  The fur is soft and fuzzy and feels really nice against the skin.  It never feels rough or uncomfortable because the nylon is on the outside of the cuffs, but they can make you sweat a bit while wearing them.  There’s also a small issue with shedding, but it’s very manageable and easy to deal with.

The nylon on the cuffs is very strong and has no stretch to it which is important because it’s used to keep the cuffs closed around your wrists.  It’s textured to the touch, but this area doesn’t come in contact with your body, so it’s nothing to be concerned with.

The only other material on the cuffs are the metal D rings.  This is another area that doesn’t come in contact with your body, so shouldn’t be an area of concern if you have metal sensitivities.  The D rings are strong and smooth and do a good job at keeping the cuffs tightly in place.

Untitled-3Caring for your cuffs isn’t too hard to manage, but it’s not as simple as tossing them into the washing machine with your regular clothes.  On one cuff there’s a tag that tells you to hand wash in cold water, lay them flat to dry, and then fluff them.  This isn’t something you need to do every time you use them.  You can easily spot clean them if a small amount of lubricant (or something similar) dripped onto them, but you’ll want to fully clean them after you’ve had a long, sweaty session.  The metal clamps can be cleaned the same way, but obviously don’t need to be fluffed once they’re dry.

The clamps each have a metal closures on either side of the piece.  The area between them is made up of a wide elastic band which gives you a little ‘wiggle’ room while remaining completely restrained.  Like most elastic bands, this one looks like over time it will pucker and not be as taut as when it first arrived.  In general it feels like it will last a good amount of time if you don’t play too hard.

The Cuffs

Untitled-9

Untitled-4Soft and fuzzy, these cuffs were designed to restrain you or your partner without creating any discomfort.  One side of the cuffs is made up of only the faux fur while the other side features the nylon strap.  On one end, the strap is sewn around the two D rings, creating a small loop that helps them move easily.  The opposite end is folded over and sewn, creating another loop.  You can easily slip anything through there (rope, silk ties, chain, etc.) to help restrain your partner, and is great if you haven’t been able to purchase the Metal Clamps.

The way the cuffs work is pretty easy, but can be a bit of a struggle to put them on by yourself.  The last 7 1/4″ of nylon isn’t sewn directly to the cuffs which is great because it makes the cuffs adjustable.  The excess fur of the cuff slips underneath the side with the D rings and the nylon gets threaded through them; first going through both, then looping around and going back through the first.

Untitled-2

The cuffs themselves are 3″ wide and 11″ from one end to the next, but the nylon strap is 14″, giving you enough length to feed it through the D rings with plenty of strap left over.  The wider the wrists, the less strap there will be.  I’m a plus sized woman and my wrists are 7 1/4″ around.  As you can see from the photos above, there would be plenty of room for someone with much larger wrists than mine, in fact, these could easily double as ankle cuffs if necessary, though ankle cuffs are also available to purchase on Muffeze.  Mine are 10″ around and the fur meets perfectly together without having to overlap.

The Black Mink cuffs aren’t listed for individual sale, but you can purchase them in a kit and could always contact the company if you’re interested in purchasing them separately.  The wrist cuffs are listed in a variety of different colors and patterns including Brown Mink, Black Beaver, Wild Cat, and Snow Lynx.

The Metal Clamps

Untitled-7

Untitled-11The Metal Clamps are designed to keep you in one place by attaching your cuffs to each other, a piece of furniture, or something else.  The ends are made from both metal and plastic and are designed to bite down and close firmly.  The top of each clamp has a little piece that you flip up.  When the piece is up, the teeth are exposed and you can slide the nylon strap on the cuffs in between them (and do the same thing on the other side when you’re attaching it to something else).  When you press the tab down, the teeth close tightly around it.  Delicate fabrics like silk and other thin materials might be damaged by the teeth of the clamps, so stick with something that is a little more durable.

The website mentions that these can be used as nipple clamps and even work for beginners, but that’s totally inaccurate.  Unless you have an extremely high pain tolerance and are used to some type of nipple torture, it’s not a good idea to use these on your nipples.  There’s no way to adjust the pressure that’s applied and the little teeth, though plastic, pinch extremely hard.

The full length of the metal clamps are 12 1/2″ (clamps and band included), but stretches much further than that.  The clamps open 3/8″ wide, wide enough to use on most fabrics, but small enough that it might not work on everything.

-Packaging-

The cuffs arrive inside a padded envelope and are packaged in a clear plastic bag.  There’s a small card included with your purchase that has the company website and features some images of the products available.  It doesn’t contain any information apart from that.

-Experience-

I love trying out products from newer companies because it’s easy to find little gems that seem to be the treasures many haven’t yet discovered.  Muffeze would be among them.  They’re a US based company and though new, they have over 15 years of experience with faux fur.

When my wrist cuffs arrived I was really pleased with how soft and smooth they felt.  Sometimes faux fur can feel really cheap and not as soft as it actually looks, but that wasn’t the case with these.  I tried them on and was impressed by the fact that they would easily fit someone with much larger wrists than mine, and I’m not a small person.  I can always appreciate a company that considers those of us who are above average in size.

While wearing them, I noticed if they weren’t pulled tight enough that the excess length of fur (that gets tucked under) kind of slips down and doesn’t stay where it should.  It’s frustrating, but is easily fixed by pulling them tight in the first place.  The other big thing I noticed was how hot and sweaty they would make my wrists, even without the rest of my body feeling that way.  Really minor things in general, but a little annoying.

What I was most impressed by was the fact that no amount of wiggling and squirming made the cuffs feel like they were shifting or would fall off as long as I made sure they were nice and tight from the start.

I thought these cuffs were really great and work well for lighter forms of play.  They’re reasonably priced, made in the US, and super soft and adorable.  Interested in purchasing your own wrist cuffs from Muffeze?  Click the banner below.

  1. Wonderful review! I think the furry cuffs would be a bad idea for a majority of the year here (the heat) but could be fun in winter!

  5. I normally prefer the look of leather cuffs, but I’ve recently gone vegan and these look like a great alternative. They’re furry but not overly cutesy, which the fuzzy accessories often are. Nice!
