Deluxe Leather Wrist Cuffs from Bondage Boutique

When the fabulous Property of Potter offered me a chance to do a guest review on an adorable pair of leather cuffs, I was all for it. Husband and I are not BDSM aficionados, but we do dabble occasionally, like so many other sexually adventurous couples. Present us something new to try and we get a little excited. We had never tried cuffs with buckles, leather or otherwise.
A little bit about them: Bondage Boutique Deluxe Leather Wrist Cuffs are stylish cuffs made of…well, leather. You’d think that it would be obvious from the name that they are leather, but I’ve seen some companies play fast and loose with their product names, so of course I double checked the product descriptions.
The cuffs are black and deep pink, more like magenta, with metal buckles and a short metal chain that can be hooked on the D-rings of the cuffs. They fit between 4 and 7.5 inch wrists, so please be aware that you will need smallish wrists for these to fit you. My wrists are 5 3/4″, which are small enough that I’ve given up on finding watches that fit (and many jewelry stores don’t have rings my size on hand, while we’re on the subject), and the buckle fits me comfortably on the second to last setting.
What I loved: I’m not a fan of pink, but honestly I enjoyed this shade of pink. It’s not that horrible girly-girl pink that so many other companies seem convinced that women love. Instead, it’s a deep pink, more like a magenta color. I guess if you have to manufacture a pink toy, this is the way to do it.
The cuffs themselves are adjustable, padded, and comfortable. They have a little bit of weight to them without being too heavy, and come with a short chain so you can attach the cuffs together with a few inches of space between them. At first I didn’t like that much space between them, and thought that it would be better to have cuffs that hook together. However, after trying them, I found the little bit of space helped me keep my balance better and allowed me to do small but important (to me) things, like push hair out of my face. They were still restraining, but that little bit of space made me more comfortable.
What I didn’t: Being leather, the cuffs are a little hot. Of course, that just comes with the territory, but it is something minor I noticed. If you plan on wearing these cuffs for an extended amount of time in either BDSM play or as a bit of erotic fashion accessory, keep in mind that your wrists will sweat.
The only other problem I had is another minor complaint. The clips at the end of the included chains are very, very stiff. They almost feel like the pieces of the clips don’t fit together right. Like I said, this is a minor complaint, but with any restraints you want to be able to get them on and off quickly. I’d like to see the company take a look at these clips and make some improvements.
Final thought: If you like your restraints to have a bit of flare, these adorable cuffs are worth a look. They’ll run you about $60 for a set, but they are comfortable and well made (with the exception of the clips). I fully expect these cuffs to last for quite some time with proper care.
